The Arcade, Cleveland, Ohio

Built in 1890, the Arcade opened as America’s first indoor shopping center. Patterned after Italy’s oldest active shopping mall, the Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II, it cost $875,000 to build. It was financed by famous Cleveland names of Charles Brush, Marcus Hanna, Steven Harkness, John D. Rockefeller and Louis Severance.

Every Christmas, it is immaculately decorated; the centerpiece being a 25 foot tall Christmas tree.
