There’s No Surf in Cleveland

So fun photographing these fellas living their best lives, surfing in the brutal cold in December. The Lake Erie water temperature currently sits at a frigid 36*. I appreciate their passion!

Today’s weather called for a windstorm with up to 60 mph gusts and snowdrifts across Northeast Ohio.

The waves pushed west to east resulting in a rare seiche, which is a weather phenomena that drastically recedes water levels. The Northwest side of Ohio (Toledo) water levels dropped 7.5 feet with Buffalo, NY rising 6 feet in the East!
