BILL, BILL, BILL!

Photographed Bill Nye last night! 

It was an honor to photograph Bill Nye during his appearance at the Cleveland Museum of Natural History last night. Tickets to the event sold out in under a minute!

For those who aren’t as familiar, Bill Nye the Science Guy is an educator, an engineer, inventor and a 19 time Emmy award winner.

I still remember watching his memorable experiments in elementary school 30 years ago. I photographed Bill as he toured the museum, did a fan meet and greet, and had a conversation on the effects of climate change with museum staff.

He’s still as entertaining and funny as you remember.

For this portrait, I set up and took some practice shots an hour before the museum opened and hoped I’d be able to grab him for even a minute. With his packed schedule, I knew there wouldn’t be much time to try and get a portrait.

With everything set up and my marker placed, I made this portrait of Bill and snapped 3 photos of him in under 30 seconds. I’m happy with how it turned out.
