St Theodosius

Over the holidays, I caught a service at the St Theodosius Russian Orthodox Cathedral in the Tremont neighborhood of Cleveland.

Built in 1911, St. Theodosius’ parish was built by Russian immigrants and is the oldest Orthodox church in Ohio. It’s listed on the National Register of Historic Places and is one of the best examples of Russian architecture in the U.S.

It was notably featured in the 1978 classic, The Deer Hunter, starring Robert Deniro, Christopher Walken and Meryl Streep.
