Milky Way over Yellowstone

I was greeted by a large coyote in the parking lot before I stepped out in the darkness and walked along the Firehole River, waiting for the Milky Way to reappear behind the geyser clouds. I had some strange conditions; it was nearly freezing, crazy slippery and wet as I walked along the boardwalk––the geyser smoke and smell clinging to my jacket and camera.
I rattled a few shots off before getting nervous about the mist blowing against me, soaking my camera and lens. This was about the only clear shot I got of the milky way that night and didn’t want to destroy my gear. I guess I’ll have to go back and retry it!
